These are great for you on the gluten-free diet and can give you all of the nutrients, plus full stomach, that you need.

Look for gluten-free—if you cannot give up the grains that you liked on your regular diet, there are a few choices that are considered gluten-free. These are often in the specialty aisles of your grocery store. Just make sure to read the labels to ensure they are actually gluten-free like they claim.

Avoid sauces—this is where a lot of people on the gluten-free diet find out they are not succeeding. Unless you make the sauce at home, most of the store bought options will have gluten in them.

Legumes and beans are your new best friends—these are some of the healthiest foods that you will find and they can really give you a lot of nutrients while filling you up in no time. Many of those on the gluten-free diet will choose to eat these in place of some of their grains.

Avoid baked goods—these are crawling with gluten so unless you are the baker, stay away.

Try out olive oil—butter has gluten plus a lot of fat that is not good for you. Olive oil is much better and fits into the gluten-free lifestyle.

Take it slowly—there is a lot that will change with your diet when you go gluten-free. You do not have to make the change overnight. Consider just dropping one food out of your diet each week and build up until you are completely gluten-free. This makes the process much easier to adjust to and you will not feel as deprived.
